Reading to Kids can accommodate individuals and groups!

FORMAT: Volunteers read pre-assigned books aloud, for 90 minutes, to small groups of children, at eight elementary schools in the downtown LA area. This fun session also includes an arts and crafts project related to the book being read. At the end of the session, volunteers provide each child with a book of their own as a reward for attending.

GRADE LEVEL: Elementary school

REQUIREMENTS: Volunteers must be 18+ and,

Must fill out application completely.
For Groups, each person must fill out an application,, everyone in the group can chose the same school on that application.

First time readers will have a training session that takes place the day you are scheduled to read.

COMMITMENT: Reading clubs meet the second Saturday of each month,

9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at eight elementary schools near downtown Los Angeles.
You can choose the school (from their pre-approved list) at the time you fill out the application.
