Meet: Dave Newburg

Board Member

David is retired from the music/entertainment world while being a member of NARAS for 35 years and resides in Santa Monica. Born and raised in Southern California he was first introduced to volunteering while in the Boy Scouts and participating in a number of projects and causes including the clean of the area beaches. Since those early years, David has continued to participate in volunteering activities and helped with several non-profit organizations wherever he has lived. 

Having served over 10 years on the Board and as Treasurer of the elite non-profit swim club Team Santa Monica (TSM) Aquatics, prior appointed for five years on the non-profit  Santa Monica Pier Restoration Corp serving as Treasurer and Twilight Concert Chair and have been a lifetime Red Cross Blood donor with over 120 donations. Recently re-appointed by the City to serve on the non-profit Santa Monica Pier Corporation along with serving on the Board of the non-profit Volunteer Collective. 

He is a graduate of CSU Long Beach earning Accounting and Finance undergraduate degrees and a MS in finance. Completed an International Business Certificate program at DIS in Denmark. David also is current and holds active professional CPA and CFP licenses. His education and work experience in for-profit and non-profit organizations bring a high skill set to Volunteer Collective to assist in creating a financial foundation and stability for planned future growth.
