Seeds of Hope: Support Food Justice Across LA - Volunteer at a Community Garden

Get your hands dirty through inspiring gardening and food justice projects across the city.

Seeds of Hope is the food justice ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles. For Seeds of Hope, food justice requires equal, affordable access to healthy and nutritious food. Unfortunately, that is not a reality for many friends and neighbors. In the parts of Southern California that Seeds serves, 4.5 million people are living in poverty. 3 million people, including 1⁄4 of all the children, suffer from hunger or food insecurity. More than half of the people, including 1⁄5 of all the children, are at risk of diet-related illness.

To address these issues, Seeds of Hope works to get free, fresh, healthy food to hungry people, and offer accessible, fun nutrition education with the goal of reconnecting communities to agriculture and green spaces through horticultural therapy and gardening.

Every week, Seeds of Hope distributes hundreds of thousands of pounds of produce and connect with friends and neighbors through food.

Volunteers are needed weekly at the following garden locations:
