Meet: Becca Tankersley

Executive Director

Becca Tankersley came to Volunteer Collective after serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Lion's Heart Volunteers. She has 20 years of experience in the Nonprofit field. Becca has previously worked in development at the American Cancer Society and the Girl Scouts of Orange County. She became involved in the nonprofit world very young; her first memory of volunteering was at 5 years old. After high school, Rebecca did a year of AmeriCorps with City Year Rhode Island. It was there that she realized there was no other career path for her, and she dedicated herself to a lifetime of service. She founded an LGBT rights organization at the age of 20 while attending Wilmington University, earning her degree in Organizational Dynamics (Nonprofit Management.) She also has her Masters in Nonprofit Management from Northeastern University. She is extremely passionate about community service and developing/keeping talented professionals in the nonprofit field; which led to founding the Orange County Nonprofit Professionals Network (formerly YNPNOC.)

In her free time, Becca is passionate about volunteering with several nonprofits dedicated to serving and advocating for survivors of sexual assault. She is extremely passionate about women’s issues, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion.
