Dr. David Preston

Dr. David Preston has spent nearly 30 years helping leaders and organizations build high‑performing learning communities. Before joining Volunteer Collective, he wrote for the Los Angeles Times, taught at UCLA, created the Open‑Source Learning framework for K–12 schools, and consulted for major corporate and nonprofit organizations. As a keynote speaker he has shared insight with audiences at OSCON, the Institute for the Future, TEDx, the MacArthur Foundation, and the Royal Geographical Society in London. He is also the author of several books, including Academy of One. He enjoys family time, the outdoors, good food, and Ironman triathlons.
